Welcome to the Soul Sister Swing Website! |
|

Soul Sister Swing began in 1985 when three friends who had performed together in bands decided to put together a group of their own. Harmonies were their passion so they selected songs from the Andrew Sisters, the Boswell Sisters and the big band era of the forties.
Their friends nicknamed them the "Soul Sisters" because of their habit of breaking into song whenever they were together. The "Swing" was added to describe the style of music.
Amidst coffee and laughter, they rehearsed every day to perfect their act.
Their first gig was for family and friends and (predictably of course!) was a great success. Within a year they were performing on TV and traveling throughout Australia presenting floorshows for corporate clients and service clubs, and as support for overseas artists. |
